We offer several different methods of printing - letterpress, thermograph (raised print), traditional offset, and digital printing.
Letterpress printing is one of the oldest methods of printing, traditionally using wood or
lead type to physically press ink into paper
one sheet at a time. While we now use photopolymer plates to create the impression, the results are the same - a beautiful deep impression that is exquisite both to view and to touch. Letterpress printing is a craft requiring a skilled press operator and patience. Each piece has its own unique character.
Thermograph (raised) printing uses offset (flat) printing and a special powder which is applied to the printed piece while the ink is still wet. The piece is then exposed to a heating element which casues the powder to swell and "raises" the ink. Thermography is an affordable way to add texture and beauty to your printed piece.
Offset printing (flat) printing is the standard ink printing process in use today. It is a method where a thin layer of ink is applied to a sheet of paper by using a laser etched plate.
